Array of Folds

Array of Folds is a pavilion located in the Western Square of Souq Waqif, inspired by the rhythmic fabric canopies that once shaded Doha’s market streets. The design translates traditional shading patterns into a series of lightweight, layered folds that create a shaded field within the open square. By transforming a circulation space into a place to pause, gather, and reflect, the pavilion enhances the microclimate while maintaining visual lightness through the use of PTFE fabric.
