Tanawar-Cultural Film Center
A Building That Lightens to Enlighten

Dedicated to the empowerment of local and emerging film production. Conceived as a civic platform rather than a closed institution, the project aims to bridge the gap between filmmakers, startups, and the public by making the process of cinema visible, accessible, and shared.

The architectural approach is rooted in creating an optimal facility for creative startups that merges seamlessly with the public realm. Rather than isolating film production behind closed doors, the building reveals its layered processes—allowing visitors to experience the behind-the-scenes journey that leads to a cinematic presentation. Spaces are organized as successive layers, transitioning from public exposure to controlled production environments, reinforcing transparency, learning, and engagement.

Located at Lusail Marina, directly facing the promenade, the site is strategically chosen to connect a vibrant public waterfront with the creative energy of film producers and cultural practitioners. TANAWAR acts as both a destination and a cultural interface—where light, knowledge, and storytelling converge to enlighten the city.
